This is part of the International Audio Group and their address is

IAG UK
IAG House, Sovereign Court
Ermine Business Park,
Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire,
PE29 6XU

According to the www.192.com web site their fax number is

01480 431 767

So, you could either fax them or try dialling around that number to see if you have any joy.

Hope this helps

I've tried both 0845 4580011 and 01480 447700 and they both answer with the same menu for various types of enquiry at IAG. I have added an entry to the database for this.

So what was the reason you went to Argos in the first place?

When was the piece of equipment to which the remote is for purchased?

I have done a database search and number is 08000563136 for 08706003030

This 0870 number is for Argos Direct customer services, which is changing to 0845 640 3030.

You can call via the main switchboard for Home Retail Group, Argos' parent company, 01908 690333. The 0800 056 3136 is for the Argos Card, but option 4 will put you through to Argos Direct customer services.

I got an wharfedale dvdr24f freeview pvr. As i said i lost the remote to it I did try my phone irRemote for my nokia n95 8gb but with no luck.

irRemote turns your phone into a universal remote control. irRemote allows to operate audio and video equipment using one device.

You might want to try 01480 452561 for Wharfedale/IAG. Might not be the department you want but the chap that answers should be helpful  :)

Ah right. The reason I asked was because if a product was bought recently and breaks, then it's the retailers responsibility to repair or replace rather than the manufacturer's. As you've lost the remote, then you could be on your own.

Let us know how you get on with Argos. Failing that, you will have to look at sourcing a new remote yourself. A universal remote (assuming you can find one that works), like your Nokia, might be OK for the main functions, but often these devices have lots of buttons for more obscure non-common features.

I came across this posting on another forum, also from someone in Liverpool, who has, believe it or not, lost the remote to exactly the same piece of equipment. A suggestion is made as to an online store that sells replacement remotes.

If you know of any Wharfedale dealers in your area, you could always ask them if they can get you a remote for it.

The Wharfedale website gives one dealer in Liverpool:

Richer Sounds
1-5 Bery Street
Liverpool
L1 9DF

Telephone 0151 7087484
