Council contact improved through 0300 numbers

Dudley Council’s key customer contact numbers are changing to ensure they are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

All not for profit and voluntary organisations are being encouraged by the government to switch to 0300 numbers which offer no additional cost to the caller. And the new numbers will remain in operation even if the conventional 01384 telephone lines fail due to technical faults.

A number of organisations such as the Police, NHS, Housing Associations and the BBC have started to introduce 0300 numbers. Now Dudley Council is leading the way among many local authorities and changing its public facing numbers to begin 0300 555.

As of today to contact Dudley Council Plus, people should call 0300 555 2345 as opposed to the old 01384 812345. Also, the new number for housing repairs management centre is 0300 555 8283, Callpay (24 hour automated payment line) is 0300 555 7000, council tax and housing benefits is now 0300 555 8100 and revenues will be available on 0300 555 8000.

All 0300 numbers are charged at a local rate from a landline or mobile number and cost no more than the existing 01384 numbers.
