There are a few entries in the database for Glasses Direct (www.glassesdirect.co.uk). The main contact number on their website is 0845 688 2020. I have no problem using this at the moment as I have inclusive 0845 calls on my landline.

They have given the number 01793 746555 in emails to me in the past as the number to contact their dispensing opticians but I think this may now be quoted as 0845 347 2020 (see, for example, http://assets.glassesdirect.co.uk/pdf/gduk/weborderform-jan10.pdf ), which is the main contact number given in your verified numbers database, with an alternative of 01793 746601.

The unverified numbers database has two entries for the main contact number, 0845 688 2020, one listed as 01793 746555 (see above) and one as 01793 745666, which is a firm of landscape gardeners or similar, so should definitely be removed.

Sorry this is all a bit vague, but a little research could probably unearth the correct geographical numbers for the two departments.

I have removed the entry linking 0845 688 2020 to 01793 745666 (the gardening company).

The verified entry giving 0845 347 2020 and 01793 746601 is correct as the IVR on both these numbers are the same and are voice by "Jamie". Option 1 is for orders and option 2 is for any other enquiry, including home trials.

That's great - so can 0845 688 2020 be listed as the main number for Glasses Direct, as this is the number they advertise? I got the same options when I called that number.

The unverified alternative number that was listed alongside 0845 688 2020, 01793 746555 is for the "dispensing opticians" at Glasses Direct. As this isn't a direct alternative to any of the 0845 numbers, I have removed it from the database.
