need geographic number for Canvey Island jobcentre

Really hate the proliferation of 0845 numbers

When you are unemployed you don`t need the extra expense

Perhaps some manners would be in order.  ::) ::)

Having posted a request previously last May, we are still awaiting feedback on whether any of the suggested number work so they can be listed for others to use.

I have put together some guidance on contacting Jobcentres and I would appreciate feedback on what you find.

I have personally been in contact with Eric Illsley the MP for Barnsley Central in regard to this matter and he raised it in the House Of Commons in February.

He supported that fact that the entry to all government Departments should be either FREE to the caller or the number should be included in the call packages.

I am not aware of any progress being made on this issue and with the election looming I don't expect a reply any time soon.

But be assured that I will keep tabs on the matter

I think during a General Election is the best time to get commitments for action from serious candidates. There is no point in wasting time trying to convince no hopers!
