Title: Mid Essex Hospital NHS Trust
Post by Tolkny on Mar 31st, 2010 at 10:05am
01245 516841 is given as an alternative for 08440002, Mid Essex Hospitals NHS Trust. I got a "the number you have dialled has not been recognised" auto announcement.

I have just removed this entry from the database. The number returned unobtainable just now.

It was listed as an alternative for, 0844 822 0008, down as "Appointments Call Centre" for Broomfield Hospital.

An unverified entry with this 0844 number, also listed as "Appointments enquiries" is 01245 514594. If you try this, let me know how it goes; if it is a suitable alternative, I will list it as verified.

I tried that. The Announcement is something like "Mid Essex Appointment Centre, Please hold for next available operator."

I did not want to waste their time by asking if they can/will put calls through elsewhere and/or answer non appointment related enquiries about their hospitals. But the number itself works!!

I have tried 0844 822 0008 and 01245 514594 and they are both answered with the same recording identifying them as "The Mid Essex Appointment Centre", so this is a suitable alternative and I have listed it as verified.

What is it you are looking for then?  :-?

In your first posting here you pointed out that the verified Appointments alternative (to 0844 822 0008) we had was no longer working. The unverified listings yielded the direct alternative (that answers the same), but that's not what you want and you say you would have to ask them to put you through to the destination you elude to.

If you are posting here for help with an alternative to a 08 number, then please post the 08 number along with an explanation of the department or area you would like to contact!

Search for the database for mid essex and the first entry is the main switchboard for the Trust, 01908 849003. Will they put you through?

I got it from another source, it was about which ward a patient is on. Sorry for confusion, I was trying to assist, but failed.

Right. So call the main switchboard, 01908 849003, which is answered by an IVR (menu) and hold to speak to the operator and explain your query to them. I don't believe you should select option 1 for wards because you need to know which ward it is in order to be put through to it.  ;)
