Title: Hermes Parcels/MyHermes (Parcelnet)
Post by smileyeyes on Apr 16th, 2010 at 1:57pm
Hi,

Just wanted to let you know..
I just tried to find an alternative number for Hermes parcel collection / delivery
The number listed on here (  01274 625625 ) gives an answerphone message
referring the caller to yet another 0844 number ( 08445437000)
When I searched this site for an alternative, there doesn't appear to be anything.

Hermes and Parclenet are one of the same I believe. So do a search on the database for Parclenet for a list of unverified numbers

Okey dokey, will do that sherbert.
Thanks for all your ideas.
Spent the past hour searching Google re Hermes and couldn't find 1 single landline number.
Will search for parcelnet now

Why search Google when they are on the database?

I searched the database under Hermes, and got  0844 543 7411       01274 625625
The landline number just has a message offering another 0844 number.    ::)
I assumed that was all the database had, so plodded off to Google..
.. now that you've said they are also Parcelnet, I have found lots of numbers on the database.
Going to try a few now.

Sorry if I'm a bit naive on here, {take pity on this newbie lol}

:)

..was I wrong to post the message saying the landline number on the database referred to a further 0844 number?
{was trying to be helpful, but need to know if I shouldn't of said it?}   :-/

ouch > I just phoned the parcelnet landline number nearest to where I live, and I got a right earbashing from the woman running the depot.  She said no one has the ****** right to publish their number >  ;D but, I resolved my issue of the missing parcel!

There are no verified entries for Parcelnet, so I presume that you called an unverified entry. Please post feedback on the forum of your experience of numbers in the database, whether they work, don't work (if they don't work, say why) or whether they are unverified and can be listed as verified.

I did say in reply #1 that they were unverified.

COURIER network Parcelnet is to be rebranded as Hermes as part of a move to create the largest European home delivery business. The Yorkshire firm takes on the name of its German sister company as part of plans to integrate the two businesses.

smileyeyes, please let me know which number you dialled and had your enquiry dealt with sucessfully so I can list it as verified.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for your reply, and the source link.  I'm very pleased to know that I can help.   :)

I managed to get through to a Hermes depot via the database:
Parcelnet - 01638 723500 - Newmarket Office - deals with Colchester area.   [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

The woman there, Michelle, was absolutely fuming that I acquired the direct number... hope they don't change it now   ::)
Though I had the last laugh, she had to admit that the local courier collection rep had collected a parcel in error as they don't
deliver to Yours Clothing.

Have noted your reply re feedback, and will definitely post mine from now on.

:)

..... the link re Hermes was also helpful as it published the name of their UK Chief Executive, which gave me the idea of emailing her to inform her of the inconvenience and stress the company are causing me regarding a parcel they took from me in error, which is delaying me obtaining my £50 refund.

he he he  8-)

Title: Found a free phone for Hermes
Post by smileyeyes on Apr 17th, 2010 at 7:08pm
I've just come across a free phone number for Hermes - 0800 435 881
I rung it and got a recorded message saying "welcome to Hermes, office opens on Monday"

:)

Thanks for that. I've added it in another entry as "Head Office", as I presume that that is what it is.

I came across this PDF which gives telephone number 0844 543 7000 and fax number 0844 543 7104.

The 0844 543 7000 number is answered as "Hermes head office" by the same female voice as is on 0800 435 881, although not 0844 543 7411.

The address for head office is:

Capitol House,
1 Capitol Close,
Morley,
Leeds,
LS27 0WH

The 0113 number(s) for this office seem to be a closely guarded secret as only the covert-premium 0844 numbers are given on webpages.

I have been through the numbers for local depots we have and verified a number of them. Where possible, I have added the address of those depots.

This may be useful in finding an alternative to Hermes' 0844 numbers:

Having refreshed my memory of Parcelnet by a quick search on Google, I am hardly surprised that they have chosen to call themselves Hermes.

It would have improved their popularity had they called themselves Herpes.  :P

Hello and welcome to SayNoTo0870.com.

I don't believe that there is an M46. If there was, it would originate north of the M4 up to the West Midlands. See here for how motorways are numbered.

We have the numbers for a number of Hermes depots in the database. Bolton (verified) would appear to be closest that we have to Manchester:

Unit 4, Great Bank Rd, Wingates Industrial Estate, Westhoughton, Bolton, BL5 3XU
Tel: 01942 844160

Do you have any idea of the depot's location, whether it be a full address or just rough idea?

If you do find anything out such as where it is, or indeed its phone number (maybe off another branch), then please let us know so we can list it.

Do they mean M46 post code?

Ah right. In which case the depot at Westhoughton is a few miles outside of that area, so I wonder if this is the one that is being sought.

Just to tellyou that 0800 435 881 is the Head Office Wages Department, and although I found a friendly person there, they really are not qualified to answer any questions on missed deliveries etc.

Has anyone resolved the 07040 703091 premium rated (NOT mobile phone) number question?  (I had foolishly gone away for an extended weekend and found three cards with this number and no other means of contacting them to arrange alternative delivery time.)

Thanks for the feedback. I have removed the 0800 435881 number from the database.

Search the database, by name, for hermes to see other entreis and try them. Then report back your findings.

None of the MyHermes numbers are accurate, they go throught to Courier Recruitment lines (i.e. if you want to work for them.

I need to find the number to chase the lack of reply to 12 emails after they smashed the thing I sent.

This is such a bad company, just look on the eBay forums.

Their terms basically say "sure well take that but you take the risk and if you sue us you pay our costs"

They work against eBay policies because eBay says an item has to be returned but they demand the right to inspect it at the destination, except that is a load of crap because they do not respond to emails and you have to pay 0871 fees and probably will get nothing.

The number I am after is  0871 246 1583.

DON'T EVER SHIP WITH MYHERMES

Hello and welcome to SayNoTo0870.com.

Thanks for posting about this.

I tried 0800 174 9040-9 and they all answer as "The Career Helpdesk"; there is no identification of company name, unless that is it. For that reason I've removed these numbers.
