Why do you need a non geographical number?

Hello, according to Cornwall Councils website here you can contact them on an 03 number. Like 01/02 numbers this SHOULD be charged at you standard rate. for more info on 03 numbers see Ofcoms info page here I hope this helps :) |

On the home page, ]www.cornwall.gov.uk it says: ::) ::) ::) ::) 0300 1234 100 ::) ::) ::) ::) This is a non-geographic number and will cost no more to call than a geographic number. |

Which shows how the useless telco profit loving regulator Ofcom has failed to properly educate the public about the cost of different number ranges. Ofcom launched the 03 number range so they should have been under a duty to properly educate the public that it was a normal number range like 01 and 02 charged at normal rates. Of course it hardly helps that the same cretinous telco loving regulator allows the 08 range to cotain Freephone numbers (0808, 0808), Premium Rate numbers (0871) and numbers that Ofcom does not define as Premium Rate but which anyone using a mobile will still believe conforms with the dictionary definition of the word premium. |
