Title: Most users ever online was 307 Post by Dave on May 26th, 2010 at 11:32am
The most users ever on the forum was 307 on 13. Apr 2010 at 16:55 with 306 of them being guests. Does anyone have any ideas what prompted this influx of visitors? :-? :-?

Was that when the volcanic ash was grounding flights?

It could be a delayed thing as people were realising that it was not going to be over the next day.

I have had a look to see what links Google was giving to the forum that day. The only one that perhaps stands out is 0800 buster!
I am no expert, but I understand that there are standard tools available to track where internet traffic is directed from. These would normally be used to answer the question posed. Also looking on Google there are many links to "mobiles" {dot} "saynoto 0870" {dot} "com" (written this way to avoid generating a joined link in Google). I assume that with only the "www." domain registered, one is open to this kind of thing from someone trading on the back of a good name. I take it that the number of users relates only to the forum, rather than the database. Otherwise I would have suggested that it was one of the doppelganger sites trawling for data using multiple concurrent channels. |

You don't know what you're missing out on Batman! ;D 0800buster.co.uk provides a 01/02 dial through number for calling 0800 and other so-called "freephone" numbers. The mobile companies usually charge freephone numbers at a premium to ordinary geographic and 03 numbers, so this trick allows you to be charged normal geographic/03 rate for 0800 calls (or part of bundled call minutes where applicable). |

That is the good thing about all inclusive minutes on a mobile.

Don't know of any mobiles that allow 080 numbers as part of inclusive minutes, you will pay for them as an extra, and usually at a higher rate than 01/02/03 numbers not included in packages. |

That is the good thing about all dial through numbers.
The other good thing is that they enable providers to make money, whilst offering what could be seen as a "free" service for their customers, who pay them no money at all ... ... but as we know, nothing is really "free". Those who take data from saynoto0870 and sell it on may seek to disagree. |

What I meant is the local geographic numbers which are free are a good thing. I never call a freephone number from a mobile. However according to the website T-Mobile seems to charge 10p but that might be if you have a contract rather than pay as you go. |

Just regarding the number of users online.. I noticed recently the SNT0870 Forum was unavailable.. due to a large amount of site traffic...
I just wanted to let you know SNT0870 is featured in The Official Windows Magazine (Here) June Issue as the Hero of the Month For those who want to have a look at the Mag, it's on page 85. Could account for a rise in visitors. :) :) |
