Thought I'd share this with you in case anyone is visiting the US. I have just returned from New York where I bought a mobile phone for $25.00  this came with $30.00 worth of call time lasting up to 60 days. US calls are charged at 10c a min and calls to and from UK and other overseas destinations 15c a minute. It is an LG phone and unusually for the US has a removable SIM card. The network is called net 10.This is a much better deal than I have found on past visits. I have brought the phone back with me and wonder if anyone knows whether US phones can be used here in the UK. Naturally I would have to get it unlocked.
Incidentally, I found myself logged out of this site and was unable to log in with my previous details, when I then asked for a password reminder my username wasn't recognised so have had to re register under a different name !!
