Title: Indesit Company (Cannon/Hotpoint) Post by smileyeyes on Jul 9th, 2010 at 7:08pm
Today I needed to telephone Indesit, to book an engineer to fix my Hotpoint washer/dryer.
On the Main Database it shows - Indesit (Merloni UK) 01733 568989 and 01733 282800 Neither of those 2 phone numbers let me talk to the dept to book an engineer However, on the Unverified Numbers Database it shows - 0800 7314958 {Guarantee registration. Answers as "Indesit" but handles many manufacturers.} This free phone number went straight through to the repair/book engineer dept. Hope this helps :) ~ Edited by Dave: Thread title amended |

Those numbers are fine.........Ask for domestic customer services, then they will transfer you. They did for me a couple of weeks ago with no problem. |

Thanks for the feedback. I'm surprised to find that we haven't discussed Indesit Company and its brands on the forum before. There were quite a few entries in the database and I have taken this opportunity to tidy them up and verify them where possible. Indesit Company UK (formally Merloni) owns the brands Ariston, Cannon, Creda, Hotpoint and Indesit. As the name has changed, I have removed Merloni from entries and replaced it with Indesit Company UK. Its website gives contact details: Indesit Company UK Ltd. Morley Way Peterborough PE2 9JB Tel: 01733 568989 Fax: 01733 341783 The 282800 number you mention is answered the same as 568989. During office hours, there's a menu for sales, parts and service or hold for the switchboard operator. Most (not all) of the 0870 numbers have been changed to 0844 numbers: 0870 154 6474 -> 0844 811 1213 0870 442 7663 -> 0844 822 4422 live Service Centre 0870 442 7664 -> 0844 822 4466 0870 442 7665 -> 0844 824 2526 0870 906 0060 -> 0844 811 1211 0870 906 6066 -> 0844 822 4224 Indesit Company (hotpointsvccouk) 0870 907 7077 -> 0844 822 5225 live consumer parts 0844 824 2526 Indesit Customer Service (message refers to ]www.hotpointservice.co.uk) open Mon-Fri 8am-5pm The opening hours for 0800 731 4958 are 8am to 6:30pm Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm on Saturdays and 9:30am to 3:30pm on Sundays and bank holidays. This exact same recording is on 01733 287691 /2 and although not the same recording, these are the same opening hours as 0844 822 4224 (which used to be 0870 906 6066). 01733 287690 8am to 5:30pm Monday to Thursday, 8am to 5pm Fridays, 8:30am to 12:30pm Saturdays, and closed on Sundays. |
Title: Incorrect info Post by almowstine on Jan 6th, 2011 at 10:48am
Hi
I'm not sure this is the correct vehicle for this but here goes: I tried to look up a number (08448 242424, Indesit) and got a free phone number, 0800 731 4598, which comes back invalid and a geo number, 01733 227691, which sounds like a fax machine. However, the geo number, 01733 568989, which is menu driven is OK. Thought you'd like to know. Regards Allan |

Hello Allan. Thanks for reporting this; I've removed the 0800 number from the database. I think that you've misread the 01733 number which is actually 01733 287691 and is still for customer service. The second digit of the local number is 8 rather than 2. |

Hello and welcome to SayNoTo0870.com. I've joined your posting to the existing thread for Indesit. There are numbers suggested above and there are entries listed in our database for Indesit. If you have already searched the database by 0844 number then the thing to do would be search by company name. When you find a suitable alternative please let us know what the 0844 number is that you have and what the alternative is so we may list it in the database. |

Hi there just joined, awesome and very useful site.
I work at Hotpoint call centre which is now indesit / Whirlpool. Numbers have been updated 18 months ago and are now free on mobiles or local rate from home phones, 03448 224 224 is the main number for call centre, depending on what you want, press different options. A lot of customers ring without their policy number (Most are Domestic & General polices) so I thought it would be useful to add their free phone number here, 0800 597 8585 and you can get them to transfer you to save you paying, so I have been told. If anyone has any questions please let me know and I will try to answer them. Thanks for amazing site, Ubntfp |

Thanks for the update. One important point. Calls to 03 numbers are 'inclusive' (NOT free) from both landlines and mobiles. It is 080 numbers that are 'free'. Outside of inclusive allowances, calls to 03 numbers are charged at 'geographic rate'. A distinct 'local rate' (a lower charge for a local call) ceased to exist on landlines in 2004. Calls within the UK are no longer charged based on distance. There can be no concept of a 'local rate' on mobile phones. |
