Title: Technofield Post by smileyeyes on Jul 15th, 2010 at 11:23am
In the past when I have asked for help finding a phone number for a company, yous have always managed to find one either from the company's website, or a google search. Not wanting to waste peoples time, and make myself look dense I have been searching for the phone number for Technofield, but have come up with nothing. (Can you tell me the google search secret, please?)
I did try yell.com :( Basically the power / charger on one of my laptops has died, I just need to buy a Universal Power / Charger pack.. Argos are out of stock >:( Technofield http://www.technofield.co.uk/contact.asp |

Why don't you order one by email here...... http://www.technofield.co.uk/contact.asp ;) Or order it on line here http://www.technofield.co.uk/products.asp?cat=14 |

I want to speak to someone regarding my questions about voltage and wattage before I go ahead and buy it.
Looking at my original charger's details, and reading the requirements on the website has left me a tad confused, and I don't have anyone I can ask advice.. :( :-? Plus, if I place an order with a Company, I do like to have a contact phone number for them Call me fussy I guess. |

Sherbert, I went to a different website, (found the same item but was more £), found their phone number,
got the advice I needed, then back to Technofield and ordered the 90W one. However, I still do not have a phone number for Technofield, which just makes me a little concerned. :-? But, the powerpack should arrive soon, the website boast superfast delivery, then I can continue my livestream Big Brother in whatever room I'm in LoL ;D ::) Can this still be called a request for a geo number? |

Well one way round it perhaps is to phone Currys, PC World or Staples or someone like that and ask the questions you want and then order it from Technofield. Or maybe someone else like them sell their products. Amazon do ;)
edit.....I composed this at the same time as smileyeyes last post :-[ |

Technofield is the trading name of a company called Tredway Ltd, http://tredway.co.uk/homepage.aspx which has the same postal address. However they do not seem to have a telephone number either. :-?
My question would be why don't they want anyone contacting them by telephone? :-? |

The address is in a residential area, so if you're looking for a phone number, then it may well be a private one rather than a business one.
I have looked and been unsuccessful in finding the name of the owner. If it could be found, then it might be worth looking the name up on residential directory enquiries. |

Dave is absolutely correct (as usual ;))
The address is a terraced house and the present owner appears to have been their five years. I will now try and do some detective work to find out who this individual is and see if I can fine his/hers telephone number. I have my suspicions that it may be just a mobile number. |

It seems the only way to find out who lives in a house is either to make a small payment or if you live near the house in question is to look on the local electoral register

Sherbert and Dave.....your powers of investigation are impressive! I seriously wish I knew how you found those bits of information.. ..did you do a search on Google maps and see the house ?! I wrongly assumed that All companies, especially ones advertising on the Internet Had to supply a phone number :-[ I agree with your Question > why don't they want anyone contacting them by telephone? < seems a little odd to me :-/ |

More to the point, why would anyone want to deal with a company that does not supply a telephone number? :-? I, myself wouldn't. I think if you do you are asking for trouble, but that is just my opinion, others here may well disagree. |

This is their reply:
Thank you for your email. Unfortunately at this present time we do not offer a telephone ordering service. Please email us your queries. Thank you. |

Yes. I simply looked on Google Street View. :) |
Title: Re: Technofield Post by sherbert on Jul 15th, 2010 at 3:39pm
At least, that saves us from looking for a number ;D
However I still go by what I said earlier, why have they not got a contact number? Seems very, very strange to me. |

To find out what sort of house it is I went to this site http://www.nethouseprices.com/index.php?con=Search-Sold-House-Prices It is a very useful site, if you want to know how much your neighbour sold their house for ;) |
Title: Re: Technofield Post by smileyeyes on Jul 15th, 2010 at 5:00pm
I was too impatient, and placed the order earlier, because they are the cheapest around. :o
Have exchanged several emails with them - told them that not giving customers a phone number is suspicious etc and that as I was a Neighbourhood Watch co-ordinator I am in regular contact with the Police... They confirmed they are a legal company, and confirmed my charger comes with a 12 month guarantee. If it all goes wrong, I've lost £21.....but will always do my research before ordering with other websites! At best, I'll be able to continue my BB11 addiction on my laptop If I ever get a hold of his / [Jamie] phone number I'll give him a courtesy call one day ;D :) |

What provide a telephone number when it is likely to frequently not be answered or be forwarded to an answering service? :-? E-mail would seem to be a much more efficient method of communicating, particularly in circumstances when the business owner is often unavailable. On a more general note, as the owner of this company clearly doesn't wish to have his number made available, it would be irresponsible for SAYNOTO0870.COM to publish it. So if anyone does get hold of it, I would ask that they do not post it on this website. |
