Title: 18866
Post by lily on Jul 27th, 2010 at 8:46am
Some years ago I signed up to Call18866, but have not used them for months. or even years.  I have just received 2 invoices, both dated 2 July 2010 and both for about £7.  I realise that they only invoice when a certain figure has been reached.  I am unable to log into my account.  A friend has had a similar experience and is also unable to log in order to view the invoices.  Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Why are you unable to log in to your account? What does it say when you attempt to do so?  :-?

Last night and earlier today I entered the details and clicked "Login".  I got no message, but the blank login screen reappeared.  I contacted Customer Service and have just received an email telling me that there has been a technical error and that the invoices should be ignored.

However, I am still unable to login (I need to change some of the registered telephone numbers).  When I try to do so I get the following message: "Your 18866 account may possibly be blocked at the moment or in the near future, although you have paid all outstanding invoices related to this account.  This is most likely caused by having another customer number with an outstanding amount......"  I don't have any other customer number.  I have emailed them again and will see what happens.

What browser are you using?

Call 0808 170 170 8 from your registered number and see what customer number it gives you. If it's different to the one you've already got, try logging in with this one (the one given on the 0808 number).

I am using Safari, but also tried this morning with Firefox.  The result was the same.  I am using the account number given in the phone message.  I have just realised that, on account of an expired credit card, I have an unpaid invoice with 18185, a sister company.  I have updated my details with 18185 in order to clear the balance.  It may be that this was the reason that access was blocked.
