Good Evening IAvoid0870,
Could you possibly provide a link as to where you got that number from? Also when you tried the other numbers were they unobtainable or were you asked to call the 0845 number? Thanks |

Number came from typing " Vauxhall Motors " into the search engine on this site.
I have called the Luton S/B but they will not budge and provide a geo number or even acknowledge that they actually exist behind the 08** numbers, they just say that the only number is an 0845 number if I want to talk to CS dept. Frustrated ! Thanks for any help you may be able to offer... |

Hello IAvoid0870,
Following a look over the Vauxhall UK website, I came accross this which apprears to give a number of options to contact Vauxhall UK on. May I recommend the "Call Me Back" button on the centre of the right hand pane of the page, or if you use Twitter there is a link for their Twitter page on there. They also appear to have an e-mail address hidden in their Privacy Policy - vauxhall.customerassistance@vauxhall.co.uk I hope this helps. :) ** edited to add e-mail address ** |

We haven't got very far with this one.
The first and most obvious thing is that the incorrect number or numbers need removing from the listings. Thus, IAVOID0870's posting referring to the database will then be meaningless and we will no longer know what those mystery number(s) are. He has continued to elude to it and has instead left those providing their time to help, to go along the same road and fill in the gaps before doing any detective work that may uncover the alternative. A search of the afforementioned string Vauxhall Motors returns three verified entries at present: General Motors 0845 090 2051 0191 335 6583 Executive Support Team Also for Vauxhall Motors Ltd, Saab Great Britain Ltd, Chevrolet UK Ltd Vauxhall Motors Ltd 0845 600 1500 01582 721122 Luton switchboard p/o General Motors Vauxhall Motors Ltd 0845 090 2044 01582 427200 Customer care Luton Switchboard: 01582 721122 p/o General Motors The number 01582 427200 was the main Vauxhall customer services number up until a few years ago when GM introduced a number of 0845 090 20xx numbers. It is now answered with a recording which redirects to the 0845 090 2044 number. The Luton switchboard will not put calls through to customer services. That leaves the GM Executive Support Team. Reading IAVOID0870's postings, I gather he has tried that and they will not deal with his call. A wider search, this time for General Motors, returns several other entries Chevrolet UK Ltd 0800 060606 Customer care p/o General Motors General Motors 0845 090 2046 0191 335 6043 Fleet Aftersales Also: 0191 3356253 Also for: 0845 0902047 & 0845 0902048 General Motors 0845 090 2028 0191 335 6157 Technical literature ordering line We now see three GM numbers that are 0191 335 6xxx. These go to an office for HP Enterprise Services (formally known as EDS), although knowing the name isn't really necessary for finding the alternative. I presume that GM has outsourced these, which would explain why the Luton switchboard will not put callers through and why the old 01582 customer services number no longer puts callers through to customer services either. There are some numbers that take more tracking down than others. Some may take hours or many hours to find. This website would list many more of these hard to find numbers if more people put a lot of effort into finding a few numbers, and then share them using the site. In this instance I have done the work. In the future I will be happy to give my opinion on where I think the clues lead, although I obviously cannot give any guarantees that an alternative number may be found by following that advice. The only way to do that is to find the number! Alternatives are as follows:
I have not located alternatives for Saab (0845 300 9395 / 9593) or Chevrolet (0800 060606). The numbers 0845 090 2033-2037 / 2048 answer as Saab Great Britain, but the recording redirects to 0845 300 9593, so I suspect that these may be answered elsewhere. |

When looking for working alternatives, it is often helpful to know how any previously working numbers answer. This has often yielded vital clues. It also helps so we know which numbers to remove from the database. The SAYNOTO0870.COM website is a resource that is free from any monetary charge and where users can share numbers they find. In your first posting, you eluded to the numbers you tried and also in what way they "don't work". Despite being asked politely by CJT-80, you provided little to go on and instead voiced your frustration at Vauxhall for bringing in the 0845 number. As I said, it is useful to know what numbers we have and how they answer. As this is a road you had gone along, you could have helped and saved my time. There are some numbers which are harder to find, such as this, and require more than say, just looking on a directory enquiries service. In cases such as this, the numbers won't appear from thin air. Likely as not, the company in question won't tell us either. So if they are to be found then time will have to be invested to look. If no one is prepared to put in that effort for these "harder to find" numbers, then we will have to be content to moan that we do not have an alternative and leave it at that. |

The following numbers are now obsolete. Each 0845 number now returns a network message (not BT - not sure which netwok operator) saying that the number is not recognised. The 0191 numbers return unobtainable tone:
The number 0845 090 2046 is not recognised, but the 0191 335 6838 number which was its alternative now goes through to the Vauxhall Customer Care Centre. This entry was previously for "Fleet Aftersales Department". The other entry that was for Fleet Aftersales Department was 0845 090 2047, which is now not recognised and 0191 335 6839 which now identifies itself as "Fleet Aftersales Centre" (when I called it was closed). If anyone knows of a new 08 number for this one, please post it here and I will add an entry for it. Both these are still the Alamo Information Helpline: 0845 090 2027 and 0191 335 6234. The Executive Support Team 0845 090 2051 number has now changed to 0844 369 0117 and its alternative, 0191 335 6583, remains valid. The Vauxhall Customer Assistance Centre is still on 0191 335 6828, but its 084 number has changed from 0845 090 2044 to 0844 369 0112. The 0845 number answers with a recording redirecting to the replacement number. The Vauxhall Internet Purchase Helpdesk number 0191 335 6842 is still valid, but its 0845 090 2045 number is not recognised. If someone knows of the new (no doubt 0844 prefixed) number, please post it here. |
