However, as this is insurance, I would expect that it is underwritten by another company and that is where calls are answered.

Indeed, the official Volkswagen Insurance website says that it is sold, underwritten and administered by Allianz Insurance plc registered in England number: 84638. Registered office: 57 Ladymead, Guildford, Surrey GU1 1DB.

The number you've given is also on the website for existing customers.

The Allianz contact page gives (01483) 568 161 for the switchboard at Guildford office.

Also, you might like to look in the database under allianz as there are a number of entries.


Please let us know what you try and how you get on so I can list a suitable alternative.  :)

I called number (01483) 568 161 which you advised then the switchboard put me through the VW insurance for existing customer.

Thanks for the feedback. I have added an entry for this, which explains that the 01483 number is for Allianz's main switchboard, and therefore that callers will have to ask to be put through.


I have also removed another verified entry for Volkswagen Insurance:
Volkswagen Insurance     0870 609 0503     0845 761 6161     01277 200100          Switchboard - by Cox Insurance plc; also for Mitsubishi (0870 6083612) & Skoda (0870 6065533) Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm


As you can see, this says it's by Cox Insurance, so I am assuming that Volkswagen has changed it's insurance supplier. I found one reference to Volkswagen Insurance and Cox in the forum from 2005.
