I used to have a number of 01744 736731 for Beneficial Bank but now when I phone that, I'm told to phone 0845 585 3485.

Can anyone help with a landline number for them?

It's not listed on your site and I've just realised that it was probably a direct number that called me - so 0845 585 3485 is probably a new number for Beneficial/HFC.

I used one of the customer service numbered listed on here for Beneficial and also found out that the department contacting me on 01744 736731 was probably the collections department (don't ask).

If there's any other info I can give, I'll gladly provide if I can.

The reason I ask is because we do have an entry for this and all HSBC numbers in the form 0845 583 xxxx, 0845 584 xxxx and 0845 585 xxxx. I know that the last six digits are internal extension numbers for extensions within branches across the country. From what you've said, I cannot work out whether this is a branch, or a general office.

The underlying geographic numbers are all Barnsley ones, and they map 01226 plus last six digits of 0845 number. So 0845 5 853485 can be reached on 01226 853485.

It would obviously be impractical for us to list all 30,000 numbers, but I can add entries for those such as this if a number of people likely to use them. That is why I would like to know what department it's for, and if it's a branch, which branch.

Afraid I couldn't say whether it's a branch or not. I'm in Brighton and used to be contacted directly by the branch here but since that closed, I've never been given the location of their contact team.

All I can give you is that it was probably a collections department.

Numbers you've got on the site for customer services are good though. They put me through to someone who can deal with the problem or put me through to the relevant department.
