I have a car insurance with Octagon Insurance Company Limited. I have to contact customer services for some amendments in policy. I have done a search on this site and google search with out any luck in finding any geographical number. I will appeaciate if some one can help me to find a geographical number for customer services.

GibYellow, Gibraltar's telephone directory returns one entry, based on the address you've given and the company name:

However, the small print at the bottom of the home page states:

No. 05479983), Registered Offices: Europa House, Midland Way, Thornbury, Bristol, BS35 2JX. Octagon Insurance Company Limited and One Quote Direct Insurance Services Limited are both members of the Brentstar Holdings Limited Group.

I suspect that the alternative will be to One Quote's office in the UK and not Octagon's in Gibraltar. One Quote is part of Europa Group which publishes its address as being Europa Hourse and telephone number, 01454 415566.

You could try this or look for the entries we have for OneQuote (some of which give this number).

Further to my earlier posting, I have done some work on the entries for Europa (OneQuote Direct, Motorcycle Direct and others). I have also found alternatives for quotations and customer services for Octagon Insurance.

I noted that a couple of the numbers for OneQuote Direct were of the form 01454 4104xx and went digging...

As suspected, the quotations and general enquiries numbers are answered at Europa's office. Octagon's quotations number, 0844 561 4610, can be reached on 01454 410505/6 and general enquiries number (which I gather includes customer service enquiries), 0844 561 4615, can be reached on 01454 410535/6.


On the basis that the claims number, 0844 815 4975, is not similar to the other 0844 numbers, and that it doesn't answer with the same female voice, I suggest that it is answered at a different location. Perhaps a different company takes claims calls or a different company takes claims calls when Europa's office is closed.

I came across the Keyfacts for Octagon's Motor Insurance Policy (PDF). It says:

Leonard House is home to Carpenters Solicitors. The building can be seen on Google Street View.

A Google of "carpenters solicitors" octagon returns a couple of reports on Octagon, which say that Carpenters are handling its claims:

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Carpenters uses rip-off 0844 numbers, but we have the alternatives! The main switchboard is 0151 637 3400, although it says it's closed now. Other numbers at that location follow on.

Thanks for your work and the numbers you provided. As you said the main switchboard number says that they are closed now, so i guess i will have to give them a try on Monday. In the mean time if you or any body else has any further thoughts, they will be much appreciated.  ;)

I added entries for quotes (0844 561 4610) and General Enquiries (0844 561 4615), but not claims.

Have you confirmed that Octagon claims is available on 0151 637 3400?
