This company have seriously ruffled my feathers. I will come back to that later, but firstly, thanks to whoever provided the geographical number for them. I searched their website, and as a global company, here are their customer service numbers:
United Kingdom 0844 858 8076 United States 1 866 414 3459 Australia 1 800 628 429 Belgium 0800 72 049 Denmark 8088 5740 Germany 0800 180 1726 Ireland 1 800 937 308 Spain 900 997 176 Malaysia 1 800 81 2870 Singapore 1 800 441 1303 Thailand 1 800 442 126 Portugal 1 800 880 474 Sweden 852 500 206 Apart from Sweden and the UK, all are toll free. Sweden is a geographical Stockholm number. I would effectively label this practice as racism against British people and those who live and work here. (Sorry to appear dissident - our 'leaders' do nothing about this and other corporate scams then wonder why people riot!) I would like to mention before I go any further that the circumstances of this scam and everything related is so farcical I have actually been smiling all morning. But I am still mindful of the fact they have stolen £50 from me and will continue to do so until I take action. And I am disgusted that because I am a British mobile user I must pay 40p per minute to speak to them and not be able to call free as in other countries. Right, the reason for my call to them. I subscribed to Sky Sports Mobile for my Nokia phone with T-mobile in December 2010. It didn't work so I cancelled shortly after. It came to my attention today that I have been charged £5 per month since from a number listed on my bill as 700004251. Investigation revealed it is Bango doing this. T-Mobile claim to have cancelled it and read through the dialogue I had with them in December. Upon calling Bango on the geographical number this is what I got via a series of options: 1: Customer Services - Leave name and number, we will call you in one working day 2: Sales - As Above 3: Marketing: Please leave a message 4: HR: As with Marketing 5: Finance - I got an answer, told to speak to Jenn Cope who is out of the office. Call back tomorrow. 9: Switchboard - Voicemail. Anybody else had this happen to them? I really am taking this further, on a number of fronts. I intend to do my utmost to get this practice ANY global company operating this financial racism towards the UK, and to prevent Bango and other such companies from stealing by stealth. |

Right folks, I wanted to add that I called T-Mobile and although it was a bit of hassle having to make the calls, they were professional all the way and refunded the full amount. Technical Support then took care of the cancellation.
Absolutely fantastic - I accept that any business transaction can incurr a mistake but it is what happens to rectify it that counts. My contract ends in May and they will certainly be top of my shortlist for a new one :) Moral of the story though guys, check yer bills! I have learned my lesson now lol! |

I still want to address this 'call cost racism' as I now refer to it though!!
