Title: Plusnet - new 0345 number
Post by kasg on Oct 19th, 2011 at 8:29pm
As well as recently introducing an 0800 number for customer support, Plusnet has now replaced the 0845 number with an 0345 number. The new numbers for residential sales or support are:

0800 432 0200
0345 140 0200

Good on them!

From Plus Net:

Residential Sales: 0800 432 0200 / 0345 140 0200
Business Sales: 0114 296 5182
Residential Support: 0800 432 0200 / 0345 140 0200
Business Support:      0114 296 5182
Broadband Service Status: 0800 917 6714
Cancellations: 0800 432 0200 / 0345 140 0200

And finally:

0800 numbers are free to call from landlines, but will be chargeable from mobiles. Rates will vary depending on your network and call plan.

0345 numbers are charged at the same rate as landline numbers, including calls from mobile phone networks.

Well Done Plus Net

Now all you need to do is sort out MAAF  :(

The reason this was done is because I submitted a complaint to the ASA on 27th August when the thread,(can't find it now), about Plusnet was posted, the ASA told them not to use the "Lo-call" claim and Plusnet have obviously responded by removing the 0845 number altogether.

.

I believe MAAF customers can use the Plusnet numbers, they just neglect to publicise this!

@ derrick, I am sure your complaint to the ASA helped, however PN had noted for quite sometime their intention to stop using the 0845 number and switch to an 01/03 number due to the increasing number of complaints about associated costs in calling PN.

They had also previously had their 0114 numbers listed, but they were removed due to "call routing" issues.

Madasafish are now posting, at the end of support ticket updates "We're happy to help if you have further questions. You can reply to this message online or call us 24/7 on 0800 432 0200 or on 0345 140 0200" so I think these numbers could safely be added to the database as alternatives to MAAF's 0844 395 0830.

Thanks. I've put these 0345 and 0800 set as alternatives for Madasafish with a note to say that it is answered as PlusNet.

The alternative we had for MAAF, 0114 296 5161, redirects to the 0844 number.

I strongly suspect that the other numbers in the 0114 296 51xx range are for Plusnet and associated services. For example, 5163 is the BT Teleworkers Support Line.

@ Kasg

I assume you are also on TBB.com?

I am glad PN/MAAF have finally acknolowedged the need to provide a better contact number.

However it still needs to be updated on MAAF's site.

@ Dave Thanks for adding the revised numbers to the Database

:)
