I did wonder why there were around 140 guests on the forum late this morning.

The programme can be viewed on the iPlayer. The bit that mentions this site is at about 22:30.

Shame about Ms Hunniford's meaningless comment shortly before: "Paying for local calls at national rate seems to be a real bugbear". The site plug is actually at 23:45.

Is it possible for someone - Dave or SCV -to cherrypick the Site bit out of the Prog - before it disappears - it would be nice to have it available for people to see that the efforts of sayno are getting out there. I know Site Related is the obvious place for it but how many look right down there I havent until now and I was looking for it.

Maybe we could have it as a click mini banner somewhere on the top of the Index Page.

If you are not allowed to show your own praises - on behalf of every Forum Member and sayno user I would like to thank Dave and all his backroom Boys/Girls for thier efforts on running the Site and their help to thousands of people.

Thanks Boys and Girls.   ;D  ;D  ;D

Nice plug for SayNOto0870.com half way through the 'Rip-Off Britain' TV programme on BBC1 tonight.

Site immediately ran a lot slower; I guess there were suddenly tens of thousands of extra visitors.

For those that missed it, see BBC iPlayer, around 15mins into it.

Sorry my mistake.  I was watching ITV player just before it so got confused. I have corrected it now.

Thanks

It was exactly the same as what was on last December - presumably it was a repeat as the Madeleine McCann programme was originally scheduled to be on then but was brought forward.

Following a major item in Series 1 and a plug for SayNoTo0870 in Series 3, I understand that BBC Rip-Off Britain is still keen to cover this issue in Series 4 (which is currently being prepared for broadcast in the late Autumn).

Rather than a full item however, the plan is to cover the issue in the context of the "Pop up" shop being held in Gateshead on Sat / Sun, 16 / 17 June.

Although there is a genuine "walk-in" element to this, the producers are very keen to hear from people who are able to attend the event and are ready to be filmed talking about how they have been ripped-off, with "an expert".

Anyone keen to contribute should contact the BBC via the contact us form on the Rip Off Britain web page, as soon as possible.

(Timing is important as some of the show content is prepared in advance.)
