I am looking for an alternative to 0300 222 0000 as my service providor here in France does not seem to be able to conect.

Possibly as all my UK land line calls are free as long as the number starts 01 or 02 and they are having a problem with the billing status of 03 numbers.

I am of course dialing 00 44 300 222 0000

Ring the Home Office on +44 20 7035 4848. This goes through to an IVR (menu) and option 3 goes through to the Identity & Passport Office helpline which is the same as dialling 0300 222 0000. ;)
