Most (didn't have time to check all of the large number offered!) of the alternate numbers are either intercepted to indicate that the number is no longer valid, or not answered.  Looks as if their agenda is to prevent and block your alternate listing.  But full marks for the past research by SAYNO but which is manifestly being targeted to undermine it.

Please can you supply me with a list of those which you tried and found to be not working so I may remove them (without need for me to spend time ringing the same numbers)?

This will help others by stopping them from wasting their time trying the non-working numbers, as well as giving us a picture of those Business Rate numbers for which we are looking for alternatives for.

Maxadolf, a week later. Please can you send me a list of numbers you found to be no good so I may remove them and so as to help others by stopping them from wasting their time trying them?

Another week has gone by and I'm still waiting. Perhaps it should be drawn from this that users of this site aren't interested in making the listing better.

It appears that Maxadolf may be one of the said opponents of SayNoTo0870 as he does not wish to help make it better. I e-mailed him a month back and have heard nothing.


I would prefer it if those who use the service of alternative numbers that SayNoTo0870 provides but are not prepared to assist in making it better would go away and stop using it altogether. It would be a great idea if they were to set-up their own alternative numbers site where users don't contribute in a fashion that will improve it.

My interest in the SayNoTo0870 database is in improving the listings, and that includes weeding out dead numbers. What I am not going to do is spend my time checking through them when someone else has done but can't be bothered to say explicitly which numbers that they found to not work. If I did do that, it would essentially be going along the same road that they had done, something which could be avoided simply be them saying what they found.
