Looking for cheaper alternative for 0872 numbers ie chatline numbers.

The 0872 prefix is effectively an extension of 0871 (as the charge bands are the same). They will have alternatives on the same basis as other 08 numbers do.

Chat lines are most certainly appropriate uses of such numbers as they are a mechanism to pay for the service and would not operate otherwise.
