Does anyone have an alternative number for the South West Trains customer services - 0870 906 6649?   Many thanks

Have you tried the number in the database, 023 8021 3606?

Edit: looking at their website, that's the number for online ticket sales, not customer services/relations, so I'm not sure which number you want.

The number given appears here and is for Ticket Sales so if 023 8021 3066 is the Geographic equivalent as advise by Kasg I suggest trying that and then... reporting back here if it does or does not work.

:-)

Tried to get through today on 023 8021 3605 and 3600 and got a recorded message to say "this line is presently (?!) closed.  To purchase a ticket, please redial 0845 ..."

3606 put me on 'hold' (agents are busy), for over 7 minutes.  I didn't continue to see if it eventually connected.

Anybody can help with another alternative?

Same here so I've removed them.

Six weeks after the deadline for complying with the Consumer Contract (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013  has passed, South West Trains has finally swapped their 0845 customer service telephone number over to the matching 0345 number.

I wonder when Eurotunnel will eventually comply?  They are still promoting only the 0844 number on their Latest Travel Information page, any 03 number is buried deep on another page.   As they seem to be having a number of problems with their services at the moment, it is to the Latest Travel Information that people will turn, particularly if travelling that day &/or using mobile devices, they won't have time for a detailed search.  This is a very cynical way of continuing to rip off consumers.  Does anyone know if a complaint has been made or if they are planning to change to 03 as I assume they must to conform with the CRD?

Do the regulations apply to travel companies? A lot of airlines have not switched over, I think they have an extended period to switch, like financial service  companies.

They only people that are exempt are

Financial services, including banks and insurance companies

Gambling

Construction, sale of immovable property and residential letting contracts

Package travel and timeshare

Roundsmen on a regular route

Purchases from vending machines

Single telecommunications connections such as public payphones and public wifi, including that provided in establishments such as cafés

No one has an extension to comply.
