Not only is this ill-timed, it is also wrong in respect of timing.

Calls made during the working day are not likely to be made under the terms of the BT weekends only plan (as calls to geographic numbers would incur a penalty charge). The note should refer to the most popular (widely used) BT call plan - Unlimited Anytime, which is the plan that someone making a weekday daytime call from their landline with a BT call plan would almost certainly be using.

For the cost of a call to a 0844, 0843 or 0871 (or 0872/3) number it makes no difference, as the rates are the same for all three call plans at all times. There are however many who could use this suggestion to give the penalty charge incurred for a weekday daytime call as the equivalent cost of calling a geographic number.

It's obviously been a while since I checked prices but I didn't realise that calls to 0844, 0843 and 0871/2 are the same rate.

They are the same at all times, not the same as each other. ::)

Not forgetting 0842 numbers which seem to have been overlooked. ;)

One mobile supplier  http://phone-shop.tesco.com/tesco-mobile/help-and-support/call-charges-payg-litetariff.aspx  oddly charges more for calls to 0843 then 0844 .
