Title: WANTED: Number for Greater Anglia Trains please Post by PoochJD on Apr 30th, 2013 at 11:09am
Hi,
Have just done a search for an alternative number for Greater Anglia Trains, and the number listed is no longer valid. You get an answerphone message that simply says: "This number is no longer in operation" and then it disconnects you. (Number tested at 11:43am on Tuesday 30th April 2013. E-Mail sent to Mods about this number.) The original number is: 0845-600-7245 The alternate number listed, that no longer works is: 01709-849276. If anyone can help, I would be very much appreciative, thanks. Pooch |

Thanks for reporting this; I've removed the entry in question.
When I last visited this, Greater Anglia's telesales and web support lines were provided by TheTrainline.com and this also the case with some other train companies. The terms and conditions page for the Greater Anglia ticket-selling site says that it is managed by TheTrainline.com, so this suggests that it may still be outsourced to that provider. Do a search of our database for thetrainline.com and you will see a list of numbers for different train operators. All these numbers are 01709 849xxx which I believe are to the office of TheTrainline.com. We published 01709 numbers which related directly to the operator in question. It may be that the same staff take calls for all (this seems a sensible approach). As such, you may find that another 01709 number will take your call relating to Greater Anglia Trains. When I have time I will have a look through those numbers to see if they are still valid, and clear out the non-working ones. If you try any, please let us know which you try and which you find work and which don't. |

Which part of GA are you trying to contact?
Customer relations are still based in Norwich (Last time I checked) I'll see if I can find a number but it may take me some time. The Only service they do in house is customer relations I think - everything else is done by someone else. |

There is a Norwich fax number 01603 675243 published for them. Have you tried some variations on that?

The number we have supposedly for Norwich Railway Station is 01603 675295. Perhaps the fax quoted by John goes through to the same place, with it being similar. An unverified entry has recently been submitted to the database with the number 01603 220940 with a note saying that it is a "customer services direct number". At the present time it doesn't identify what company it is, but simply says that they are open 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. The same message is heard on 01603 220900. The number 01603 220950 says that it is "lost property" and gives the same opening hours, but also does not identify what company it is for. More investigation could do to be carried out during office hours. |
