Title: HealthWatch Using 0843 Number.
Post by bigjohn on Jul 19th, 2013 at 5:03pm
I find it very odd that an Healthwatch group which was  set up as the patients’ voice in order to ensure that the people   receive the health and care services they need and deserve starts using an 0843 number.

http://www.healthwatchlancashire.co.uk/

they say "* Calls are charged between 1p and 13p per minute for landline customers. Calls from mobile phones are typically charged between 15p and 41p per minute depending on the provider."

The number they use is 0844 8800133 a g6 band number.I would love to know the name of a  landline supplier that charges less then 5p to call this number, and yet again no mention of any call set-up/connection fee.

That pricing information appears to be generic text describing the general range of prices found for calling 0844 numbers.

It's not specific to the particular 0844 phone number.

If it were, it would say that calls from landlines to this number cost from 5p to 13p/min, with a connection fee of around 14p per call.

The mobile costs are about right, though I haven't seen any quite as low as 15p/min. Most seem to be in the 30p to 41p/min range, with T-mobile charging 45p/min on some tariffs.
