The ASA have told Carphone Warehouse to ensure that where the cost of a phone was included in the package price it was described as "inclusive" rather than "free".

hopefully this will stop others from claiming mobiles are "free" with their tariff when they are most likely not and haven't been for a very long time.

With some contracts (notably newest iphones) it can be cheaper to buy the phone on it's own sim-free and then get a 12month sim only contract.

I doubt it, there are a lot of companies that have been told to stop describing 0845 as "local", but it has not stopped others from continuing to do so.

I suppose the correct terminology will never be used unless ofcom do something about it "I DOUBT THEY WILL"
