Title: Baumatic Customer Help Line
Post by RobG on Dec 19th, 2013 at 11:10am
Baumatic UK have just been taken over by Hoover and now have replaced their help line with an 0844 number.  The old number was 0118 9336 900 and has been replaced by 0844 6923605. Another annoying lengthy message at the beginning to increase the call costs. Has anybody any idea how to find a normal 01 number?  >:(

Some lateral thinking.  :-?

As the company is now part of Hoover Candy Group then one possibility that must be investigated is that Baumatic service support and spare parts has now been incorporated into that of Hoover Candy.

Indeed, test calls to 0844 499 5599 (the Hoover Candy number) and 0844 692 3605 tend to suggest that this might be the case. Both are answered with the same male voiceover with similar wording, albeit that the former has menu options for 1. New service; 2. Previous repair; 3. Spare parts.

Gias Service is the Group's subsidiary which provides aftersales support. Entries in the database are Bolton numbers, chiefly 01204 556100, which I suggest be the first port of call. This uses the same voiceover as the 0844 numbers.

Try it and let us know how you get on. If it works then I will list it as an alternative.

;D Brilliant suggestion Dave - no wonder you have 5 stars - excellent bit of lateral thinking and advice. It took 2 calls to 01204 556100 and about 30 minutes of hanging on to get through to a human who could help and my problem is now being sorted.  Many thanks and 'appy Christmas to you 8-)

Happy to help and grateful to you for providing feedback so we can help others who look for alternatives on here. I've added an entry for Baumatic to the listings. All the best for the festive season!

I've just tried 01204 556100 and it answers with the "closed" message which gives opening hours as Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5pm.

I called at 16:44, well within their opening times.  :-/
