Having looked up Planet Talk and found what they offer it's unlikely they will provide or have an alternative number to the one you have given.... Why? Because it's a dial through service for "cheaper" calls to International destinations, in this case India

This would appear to be a legitimate use of a 0844 number; the premium charge pays for the service. If you're looking to dial abroad then maybe you need to look elsewhere. The Call Providers section is the place to discuss this, but as an example I've come across one well-known mobile operator that specialises in low rates to foreign destinations which charges 1 pence per minute to ring landlines and mobiles in India.
