They could well be but i have never seen them could freephone numbers. Where as it seems that 0300 is described as it a fair amount. Another example i noticed today : http://www.hastings.gov.uk/housing_tax_benefits/improving_homes/energy_efficiency/grants_discounts/ It doesnt help that one of the major suppliers advertises 03 numbers as Mobile FreePhone Numbers " The Benefits of using an 0333 number Benefit from the latest 'freephone from a mobile' number Enhance customer confidence using the free to call 0333 number " https://www.telecomsworldplc.co.uk/numbers/0333/?gclid=CIG3zKmv5bwCFQUewwod6iMABg |

Good Morning bigjohn
I decided as Hastings was one of my local large councils I'd give them some feedback regarding that number.. here is what I have said: "Just a quick note to advise you that the 03 number listed for the Energy Savings Trust here: http://www.hastings.gov.uk/housing_tax_benefits/improving_homes/energy_efficiency/grants_discounts/ is NOT Free Phone. Free Phone is for numbers starting 080 or 0500 Calls to 03 number are charged at Standard Geographic Rates and are included in mobile and land line call packages. It would be helpful to edit this misleading information. Kind Regards" Lets hope that works. :) |

Received an e-mail from Hastings Borough Council to confirm it's been amended
