I have a friend single mom who's son needs medical help so she has to call 0844 Number (08444068888) for a company called Shropdoc (Shropshire Doctor).
As she is single and out of work calling this premium number a lot takes valuable money she needs for food etc... If anyone could help it would be very helpful please ~Edited by bbbuk: Change title of thread |

Hi and welcome.
I've only done a quick search but they have their own website ShropDoc.org.uk. Their address is Unit A 3 Longbow Close Harlescott Lane, Shrewsbury, Shropshire SY1 3GZ. With this information a quick google search revealed 01743 454900. Now this may not be actual number you wish as they may outsource their call centre or just operate it from a different address. Try the above number and come back and let us know. |

Their is already an alternative number shown in the database
01743 261900 which was the alternative to the 0845 number they used prior to 0844. |

Don't you just love the "Up to now the tariff we have used for the out of hours number is one pence per minute ....." nonsense.
How can such a ridiculously uneducated use of the plural noun instead of the singular be allowed through? |
Title: Re: ShropDoc (Shropshire Doctor) Post by Ian01 on Nov 18th, 2015 at 12:39pm For many years, their line was that "Calls to the 0844 number cost 1p per minute from a BT landline. This is considerably cheaper than calling an 01, 02 or 03 number." This ignored the call cost when calling from elsewhere, especially from mobiles, or those on a deal with inclusive calls to 01, 02 and 03 numbers. It also ignored the fact that non-inclusive calls made from a BT landline were, at the time, subject to a special price cap such that almost all of the call cost is passed on and paid to the benefit of the called party and their telecoms provider. As such, the call price used as the main example was the most un-typical of all the costs that could have been chosen. It is likely they were misled by their telecoms supplier as to the true nature of costs incurred by callers. Separation of call costs into Access Charge and Service Charge has revealed the truth. |

SurgeryLine misleading customers? Surely not.
