It is the Head Office number but they will put you through to the Department you ask for such as Car Ins or House Ins though it is not quick and you need to be patient.

When you call the number you will first have to listen to long slow messages telling you to call 0844 xxxx for Car and 0844 xxxx for House Ins.   Continue to hold and wait until the operator answers and then ask for the Department you require.
