I had to ring them this week. They are no longer using the 0845 numbers on bills. They now quote 0800 numbers.
They appear to be using a new range of 0800 numbers. See: https://www.southern-electric.co.uk/ContactUs/OurPhoneNumbers/ which are different to the many quoted in the say no database. |

Good Morning bigjohn
It maybe worthwhile (as you as a customer of theirs) in asking them if they have any 01/02 numbers to contact them on. Whist I fully support the use of "inclusive" or free numbers to call companies they neglect to realise that if you have to call from a mobile it's charged. I will in the meantime look at the database. Many Thanks |

Which, of course, can always be circumvented by dialling via 0200 222 0700 or 0200 222 0900. |

For those who know that those numbers exist.. and for reference they are: 020 0222 0700 and 020 0222 0900... there has never been a dialling code of 0203/0207/0208 for London... :) |

Agreed but, for me, that is one of the few cases where use of the spoken rhythm rather than the digits themselves aids memory.
As in, "Oh two hundred, two two two, oh nine hundred." |

Point taken on that,
strangely I cannot seem to find who operates the number |

Whatever the history, Southern Electric still stands ready to be in breach of the Consumer Contract Regulations when the government promise to "end costly calls" is tested on 13 June.
See the fair telecoms campaign briefing. This also features many other organisations referred to in recent postings to this forum. |
