Those are the businesses that will benefit greatly from being able to describe their call costs in terms of Service Charge and Access Charge.

These are great prices. I did not see that page when googling. I searched obsessively for different providers. I am building a website that compares cheap international call prices and will include this one to my list.
Thanks

… sorry mods if in breach, i hope not

The ASA may worry that the rates quoted apply only to calls made through BT (and any other provider that may copy the BT tariff) - not all landlines. Furthermore the call set-up fee is ignored, despite the fact that this will form part of the cost of the call, e.g. for a 15 minute call it will add 1p per minute. I also understand that there may be problems with quoting rates without VAT when presented for retail purposes.

This would be useful information if it were a little more accurate.

I also have to admit to being confused by what is meant by the suggestion that some 0845 (and 0870, 03 and personal) numbers are allocated to mobile networks.

A comprehensive long established site already exists.

@admin I see the link was removed, sorry again if I crossed the line, I thought the link was on topic

@bigjohn Thanks :) I've seen that site before :) Mine is more of a hobby rather than serious business. I am not there to compete, but for learning experience. Some things I've learnt brought me to this forum, to learn some more :)

@SilentCallsVictim if you were referring to my site, it's a work in progress :) I just compare the prices from other providers, I assume the info is correct. The mentioned provider in my table stated prices for 03 for mobile and landline. I thought that was odd, but I know little about this or what private number means, what international free phone means (in terms of calling from UK), or even local rate (as some providers advertise instead of "X pence").

My goal was to make it useful for ordinary people, as accurate/honest as possible but without too much html fluff (most providers force you to click through pages and they are not upfront with initial charge). I am trying to read up on 08, 09 numbers on this site to have a better idea...

@all thanks for not being too harsh about my post

You will find the below Ofcom pre-publication useful:

http://stakeholders.ofcom.org.uk/binaries/telecoms/numbering/Numbering_Plan_version_26_June_2015.pdf

BTW, International Freephone numbers are those starting 00800 (the first 2 digits thereof, 00, being the international dialling code).

I hope my comments were taken as encouragement to improve the quality of the information.

If one does not understand what one is publishing, it is vital to explain very clearly that one is only reproducing information published by others, although that does not entirely remove any responsibility for errors or misleading information.

@SilentCallsVictim fair point, one must strive to perform due diligence before disseminating information, otherwise it's just spreading rumours :) yes, took it all as positive feedback.

@Heinz thanks, so it's UIFN? Confusing, if they are free why are they not :)

They are from a BT landline at least.
