Another ferry  company that still uses 0871 , a couple of routes offer 0800,but  no geographical alternative.

They do show an alternative with the 0871 numbers but state they are for International Use.

The web page does not however indicate whether or not there is a breach of the Consumer Contract Regulations - it states,

If you need help with an existing booking or have already travelled, please call the customer service telephone number shown on your booking confirmation.

This technique is common, and probably occurs for one of two reasons:

1. To conceal a breach from public view.

2. To preserve the subsidy obtained from use of premium rate service numbers, which could be lost if a basic rate number was published.

Either shows the company up very poorly. I think it highly unlikely that, as implied, customer service is offered on a wide range of different telephone numbers.
