Title: MSE still talks of Local Rate etc Post by bigjohn on Dec 14th, 2014 at 5:53am
MSE still talks about local call rate in this money saving article today in The Mirror. You would think he would know better.
The suggestion that if they are on payg they use the access number to call the Freephone Number is not exactly well thought out either given that some payg networks charge up to 40p a minute to call 01/02/03 numbers. "A final thought…. Freephone calls should be free. The clue’s in the name. Except call from some mobile networks and they can be one of the most expensive call types – up to 20p a minute on some networks. If you’re then put on hold for 10 minutes that’s £2, it soon adds up. There’s a way round this though. If you have a smartphone download the 0800Wizard App, or if not go to the 0800Buster.com website. Both these operate in a similar way. They route your call through a normal local rate number – so that’ll usually be part of your free minutes (or if on Pay As You Go you’ll pay a local call rate) and then you call the 0800 number via that. http://www.mirror.co.uk/money/personal-finance/how-money-back-delayed-flight-4800325" |
