I just felt compelled to make this post to say that it is very irritating indeed that where there is no Verified listing found for an alternative number search a screen is then shown with no alternative number listed at all and instead only a large advert screen below the blank alternative number search return boxes.

Although on closer inspection there is in fact verbiage in small print below this to the effect that "No numbers have been found in the main database that match the criteria you have just entered. However, one or more numbers have been found in the unverified numbers database, and the number(s) have been listed below" it does actually still look like there is no alternative number available at all on any casual glance.

Can i therefore suggest that important though advertising no doubt is to keeping this website running that arrangements need to be changed in some way so that where there is no Verified entry alternative number but there is an Unverified alternative (the most common scenario for numbers in our database) the advert does not appear in such a way as to make it look like there no alternative numbers at all in the database.

I look forward to the comments of either Dave, the site owner or one of our other moderators on this matter.

This is just to add that this problem with the size of the advert completely hiding any listing for Unverified Numbers is actually dependent on the size of the advert so some ads (they appear to rotate on some pre-specified basis or other) do cause this problem when getting results for a number search and other ads do not cause this problem.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

The format of the banner adverts have not changed in some time, and I haven't had any other reports of this occurring (yet).

If there are no results from the Verified listings, then the central banner should only be around half way down the screen (obviously depending on the screen size/resolution), with plenty of space remaining for a large selection of the results from the Unverified list.

Does this occur from on a regular computer screen, or from a device with a small screen such as a tablet/mobile ?

This problem is occurring on a 13.3" Widescreen Laptop (HP Probook 4330s) which is probably on the larger end as laptop screen sizes go these days.

Whether or not you can't see even one Verified entry for companies that have no Verified listings at all does definitely depend on the size of the advert the site is displaying.  With other ads you can see the first of the Verified numbers below it on exactly the same laptop and laptop screen size.

It may be worth swapping out the ad banner code for more recenltly implemented responsive banners now supplied by Google and putting those into a <div> </div> with a set height.

This should solve issues with overlapping banners.
