I tried to contact Santander Consumer Finance and the number I had was 08443353815 when I put it into saynoto I got no results so I put the name into search and got 08007317774 and it was Santander but the guy was not very happy that I used that number and said my account was not registered with them but took my details and new my name and other details about my account??? he said "I suggest you ring the number on your letter. They want you to pay 10p per minute so that they can pay the huge bank bonuses. >:(

Unfortunately a number of the Financial institutions continue to behave like this, as they were not required to change their numbers as part of the EU Directive.

With regards to Santander Consumer Finance they do have a complaints line which is both an 084 number and an 034 number.  Perhaps it would be worth registering a complaint about the use of the 084 number to change your details on.

I did call the 0344 version of the number you have listed but it's not in service.
