I've just taken out a motorhome hire with Motorholme (http://motorholme.co.uk/), and it looks from the veritable mountain of confirmation emails, that "Unbeatable Hire" & "Hire Booking Centre" are other companies in the same group.

They also all quote 0800 for sales enquiries, but all the post-sales and support numbers are 0845. I've asked them for 01/02/03 equivalents and pointed out their breach of the various regulations - but in the meantime done a bit of digging round.

One interesting thing, is that non-compliance seems to be widespread among some of the bigger firms - Hertz & Europcar also breaching regulations on several levels, as best I can make out.

I can't see any exemption (to "must publish service charge" or "must provide standard rate number") for vehicle hire firms, and can't find any unpublished 01/02/03 for Unbeatable Hire..

This may yet end up with a report to the appropriate regulators I fear.

There is no exemption for vehicle hire.

Report the lack of Service Charge declaration to ASA.

Report the lack of post sales basic rate helpline number to Trading Standards via the Citizen's Advice national Consumer Helpline on 0345 404 0506.

Whilst they dont comply with showing costs.

They do give info about possible alternative number for unbeatable hire.
