Title: Wolverhampton City Council. 0870 Post by bigjohn on Oct 3rd, 2015 at 7:24pm
Council own and run The Wolves Civic Halls.
See : http://www.wolvescivic.co.uk/ Box Office uses a 0870 number and has done for a very long time never changed it. Does not comply with recent regulations ,as no mention of the 0870 service charge etc whatsoever.... http://www.ukcalling.info/ Does mention a geographical number for enquiries. But does not show a number for after sale ticket enquiries so could be in breach of Consumer Contracts Regulations. As it belongs to a Public Sector authority. Should it be using 0870 anyway ? Not as if they haven't had enough time now to sort these things out. |
Title: Re: Wolverhampton City Council. 0870 Post by Ian01 on Oct 3rd, 2015 at 9:18pm They are not exempt from Regulation 41 of the Consumer Contracts Regulations. Any post-sales helpline should begin 01, 02, 03 or 080. This isn't exactly a 'public service', so the Cabinet Office guidance may not directly apply. Any 084, 087 or 09 number that remains in use must be accompanied by a declaration of the applicable Service Charge, everywhere the number is advertised. |
