0845 numbers are charged at no more than 4 pence per minute for BT customers.

SURELY THERE IS A CONNECTION CHARGE

Oh dear they really have mucked that right up... not only that, but when I have checked their contact us page there appears to be no 0845 numbers listed on it... so why the reference from British Gas?

:-?

Perhaps we should e-mail them to point out their mistakes..

They are on the ball, I have received a call from British Gas informing me that they are addressing this issue, the agent that rang me was trawling the site and sending info to the tech team, they will inform me when it has been rectified. :)

Where call costs for non-geographic numbers are declared, this information is correct...

080 - calls to 080 numbers are free from landlines and mobiles

030, 033, 034, 037 - calls to 03 numbers cost the same as calling 01 and 02 numbers and count towards inclusive allowances on landlines and on mobiles

084, 087, 09, 118 - calls to 0xxx xxx xxxx cost [Xp per call] [plus] [Yp per minute] plus your phone provider's Access Charge.

The only declaration that is mandatory is the one for 084, 087, 09 and 118 numbers.

Connection charges were banned on calls to 084, 087, 09 and 118 numbers from 1 July 2015.

There is even less need to state pricing for standard landline and mobile numbers, but some do...

01, 02 - calls to 01 and 02 numbers count towards inclusive allowances on landlines and on mobiles, else are charged at your provider's 'geographic rate'

071-075, 077-079 - calls to mobile numbers count towards inclusive allowances on some landlines and on most mobiles, else are charged at your provider's 'mobile rate'

Thanks for the info Ian01, let us hope that British Gas research in information when they update the site.

I still find it hard to believe that there info was incorrect with the resource they have to hand.

Aren't they all Xp per call or Yp per minute?

There are four types of Service Charge:
- per call
- per minute
- per call plus per minute (from the start of the call)
- per call plus per minute (after 60 seconds).

See the official list of 80 Service Charge price points detailed at:

Britiish Gas has confirmed to me that they are redesigning the web site and have deleted all 084/087 numbers.

If any members come across any premium rate numbers in regard to British Gas please let me know and I will contact British Gas

But all in all another good result for 0870 members as another company dismisses premium rate numbers  :)
