Title: 0843 numbers
Post by robmar0se on Nov 9th, 2016 at 10:44am
Does the site now include 0843 numbers?

I tried on 08437705036 and got zilch.  I only asked because I wasn't aware that 0843 calls on bt lines are now chargeable!

The large red writing on the Home page of the sayNOto0870 website explains which number types are included in the listings.

Details for 0843 numbers are generally included here. These are premium rate and have always been chargeable on landlines and on mobiles.

Check the official website of whoever you are trying to call. You are looking for a number starting 01, 02, 03 or 080.

You have been looking on a fake website. The 0843 number you quoted belongs to a premium rate 'call connection service' operated by a third party and those fake numbers are not listed here. They are essentially a scam.

On that web page, the numbers for E.On, Calor, Citizen's Advice and IGEM are incorrect.

I have e-mailed Gas Safe Register to point out the inaccuracy of that page, and have noted that IGEM actually use the 084 number as well as an 01 number  :o

bigjohn

The number is on their website here  I have of course contacted IGEM to point out the issues with using an 0844 number.

Gas Safe have updated the numbers and have placed the IGEM 01 number 1st in their list here

So at least that's updated  :)

That page now looks a lot better.

Just one more issue, the 111 number is not available in Northern Ireland or Wales but that is not stated.

I see, I am not sure every eventuality has been catered for.

Are there 111 equivalents ?

NHS Direct Wales still uses the premium rate 0845 46 47 number.

There is no equivalent service in Northern Ireland.

I have e-mailed Gas Safe to advise that only England and Scotland seem to use the 111 Non-Emergency number.  Perhaps that's a new campaign for Fair Telecoms to take on?

It at least needs to be extended to Wales and replace that 0845 number!  :o

The Welsh NHS is in dire financial straits. Changing the phone number is on their list of stuff to do, but is not their highest priority by quite some way.
