Title: Hilton Hotels Use Of 0871 Numbers Post by bazzerfewi on Feb 2nd, 2017 at 11:27am
It has been brought to my attention that the Hamilton Hilton Group are using 0871 numbers as a first point of contact. The number in question is +44-871-902 1618 I have found the alternative number and I will enter it on the database. In regard to the misuse of 0871 numbers which organization polices this practice who should I contact to make a complaint. I have attempted to contact the Hilton Group but without success.

Its a Hampton By Hilton Hotel franchised out to http://www.atlashotels.co.uk/our-hotels who also have numerous Holiday Inn Express Franchises.
They use 0871 numbers extensively as the first point of contact for their Hotels. EG.Sales . Which is perfectly legal and above board. They are only required to offer a 01/02/03 customer service number to call them on if the customer has a customer service query EG. Booking Change. Which should normally appear on the booking form. Hilton offer a FREEphone Number for Customer Service 0800 833775 (Option 2) On the Holiday Inn Express Main Site they do say (To modify or cancel an existing reservation call : 020 33 499657 ) |

The number quoted 0151 707 7877 belongs to a Miller and Carter Steakhouse. http://www.millerandcarter.co.uk/restaurants/north-west/millerandcarteralbertdock/findus :-? Hiltons Central Reservations Number is 0800 833775 this is the alternative to their main uk reservations number 08705 909090 which they still promote here as a national rate number . No mention of service charge. https://secure.hilton.com/en/hi/feedback/hrwfone.jhtml Edit - Admin - Phone number as requested |

Title: Re: Hilton Hotels Use Of 0871 Numbers Post by Ian01 on May 3rd, 2017 at 11:21am The prefix 00800 (or +800) plus eight further digits is a free call from anywhere in the world. This is an international freephone number. The denotion of 0845 as local rate and 0870 as national rate hasn't been true for a very long time and should be reported, perhaps to ASA. |

The 08705 909090 number appears on the contact page i linked to, it states for calls from United Kingdom- including N. Ireland
see: https://secure.hilton.com/en/hi/feedback/hrwfone.jhtml I got the 0800 833775 alternative to it from the Say No To 0870 Verified Number List. I checked to see if it still worked before i mentioned it. 08705 909090 is answered by a different menu. 0151 7026200 is the specific number for the Hampton By Hilton. Liverpool City Centre. They all appear to be answered by one or other of the Hilton Call Centres. |

It is a strange one this, I stayed at the Hampton Albert Dock LIverpool and when the staff rang 0151 7026200 the call was patched through to the Hilton International Call Centre

Yes that would be correct as i mentioned above.(They all appear to be answered by one or other of the Hilton Call Centres). But they advertise the 0151 number specifically in the Liverpool Area. See: http://www.thomsonlocal.com/The-Hampton-by-Hilton-Liverpool-City-Centre/2394812/01517026200/ |

This is the specific number I have discussed with Hilton Hotels Customer Service (by e-mail) I basically advised the approx call costs (I used Sky and O2 as examples) of the 087 number and then advised the situation regarding using the 03 equivalent number and the associated call costs (mainly that it's an inclusive call) as a reason to switch to the 03 number. Lets hope it does some good! |
