Title: Google giving 0844 etc results Post by allegro on Apr 10th, 2017 at 7:59am
I've just googled Jupiter unit trust managers. The box to the right of the search results that google often gives with details of the query quotes an 0844 number. Jupiter themselves have used only 0800 and 01xx numbers since at least November 2015.
Why is google using outdated information? |

I would say that Google is displaying the information provided to it by the company in question, or else submitted by users on that company.

Jupiter need to update their site. They also need to do something about the 0500 number they are advertising on that page. |

And IF they intend to keep the 0844 number (which I have no idea why they would bother as they advertise the 01 alternative) then they need to correct this: Quote:

You can amend the information on Google's page, for any telephone number entry, I have done so myself. As suggested it's having data pulled from somewhere. PS I have just done this for one of the Jupiter Management pages on Google. :) |

I suspect that page is an old and orphaned bit of Jupiter's website. All the "contact us" pages I've looked at plus all their current printed material gives 0800 and 01xxx numbers. |
