Title: Care Quality Commission (CQC) Post by pannacotta on Mar 22nd, 2018 at 1:36pm
Hi I'm trying to urgently call the Care Quality Commission (oversees care homes for the elderly) from abroad. Does anyone have a number that is not the
03000 616161? website is cqc.org.uk I sent them an email but no response! Many thanks and congrats for this website - it's been a lifesaver as I arrange and follow care for my elderly parents in the UK. I wish all companies would understand that people live in other countries and need to call the UK numbers too! [edit]Thread title edited by Dave.[/edit] |
Title: Re: Quality Care Commission (calling from overseas) Post by Ian01 on Mar 22nd, 2018 at 2:56pm Ofcom rules in place since 2007 ensure that when called from within the UK, calls to 03 numbers are charged on the same basis as calls to 01 and 02 numbers. For the most part, calls to 01, 02 and 03 numbers are covered by inclusive call allowances. This also applies when roaming within the EU. If roaming further afield, calls to 03 numbers will be chargeable, but usually on the same basis as caling 01 and 02 numbers. What is your issue with the 03 number? Is it an expectation of high cost such that you have postponed the call, or have you already tried to call and found yourself unable to get through? Where are you calling from? Is it a landline or a mobile? If a mobile, which country is the mobile number registered in? |

The reason for requesting and alternative to the 0300 number is because the call is to be made from overseas.

Try the above highlighted number and report back how you get on. Let us know whether it gets straight through to the Customer Service Centre, or whether it is some other part of the organisation, or the main switchboard or reception where you have to ask to be put through (assuming they will put you through). |

Yes, but what is the actual issue with the 03 number? Is it simply an expectation of high cost such that calling has been postponed, or has an attempt been made to call but was unable to get through? Where is the caller calling from? Is it from a landline or from a mobile? If a mobile, which country is the mobile number registered in? All these things could be useful in understanding the actual question. |
