Is there a way to switch off these damned adverts that keep appearing at top and bottom of Forum pages?

I am sick of keep clicking the X reporting and selecting to be deleted only for them to appear again on the next page!

I have gone through AdChoices several times and clicked on Turn Off All Companies, but these seem to just come back.

Surely there is a way for the site to ban these annoying adverts?

Hi derrick,

There has always been banners on the website including the forum, and I haven't changed anything with regards to them.  Are you seeing something different to what you normally see ?

For the last few months adverts pop up on every page, it doesn't happen on other sites like MSE for example.

This is certainly not something that is supposed to happen - I've never had any popups and never would on the website.  I've also not had any other reports of this.

Are you able to send through some screenshots to me please (by e-mail) so that I can look into this further?

Just to confirm (as I mentioned in my e-mail reply).  Here is a summary of what I mentioned in my e-mail replies.

The banners you mentioned are regular banners and not pop up banners which I originally thought you were referring to (I've never used pop ups on the website and would never do so).

Banners have always been used on the SAYNOTO0870.COM website – the design of the website hasn’t actually changed since it was first set up many many years ago.  The banners are in the same positions that they have always been.  There is one at the bottom of each page, and two at the top (one at the far right and one in the centre).

Although the actual banners themselves change (each time you visit you are likely to see different banners), they are always in the same position.

Other websites such as MoneySavingExpert do not use banners, but instead earn commission when people sign up to the different offers/services that they recommend/advertise on their website.

I know banners can sometimes be annoying but they have always been here to help cover costs and keep the site running as a site that is free for all.
