Does anyone have an alternative number for the O2 Direct Debit Team?

The non-geographical number I have been given is 08702 203 299.

I don't yet know whether any of the other O2 Finance or Customer Service numbers listed here will work - I cannot call them now because they are only open 8-5, Monday-Friday.

Thank you

As I said, I'll try that on Monday - the Direct Debit dept is only open 8-5 Monday to Friday.

Freephone numbers are useful, tho not entirely as I'll have to go find a landline phone somewhere...

It's been discussed somewhere on the site before, that a company issues London numbers charged at geographic rates on the 0200 range.  These are used as dial through numbers for freephone numbers.  Perhaps someone could point in the right direction, as it could be handy to store this in my mobile incase I need to phone a freephone number whilst out.

As for the O2 0800 number, I have called them a few times, and they ask for my number, then say I phoned the wrong department (which is of course correct, but obviously have to act dumb as I don't want to show I deliberately called the wrong department) and then put me through to the correct billing department.  I've never had a problem with this method.

Just found a number that answers "Welcome to O2." No idea what department it is; it seems that nearby numbers are for different companies, such as Peugeot. Perhaps it is a third party call centre. The number is 020 89732948.

Other numbers answer with "Listening Company." See Listening Company, a call centre supplier.

Hi,

I'm looking for a cheaper number for the mobile phone company O2's customer services. My phone is on the wonk and I want it dealt with without paying them more money on the phone. The original number is 0870 5214 000.

Can anyone help me?

Tom

There are quite a few entries for O2 in the Say no to 0870 database. An unverified entry is 0800 9777027 which is entitled "Network customer services".

I'm surprised it isn't mentioned above

- from a contract phone try calling 100, which is free

from payg, I believe 100 is probably chargeable

For the record, o2 no longer have an 09x premium rate number for any of their customer services.  All customer services for either Online or normal retail customers, PAYG or contract are on 0870 for which try alternatives listed in the database.

Due to this I've removed all reference in the database to their old 09x numbers.

Just come across 0113 3881000 in the unverified database. It now has a recorded message giving various 0870 numbers for contract, pay as you go etc. However, numbers following it may be worth a try.  Wink

Another number that answers as "O2 Member Services" is 0113 3069265. It's not a 24 hour one.
