DHL Customer Services (Read 86,460 times)

Paul Guest	Re: DHL local number Reply #1 - Jul 31^st, 2003 at 6:10pm The only number I can find for DHL Int'l other than 0870 110 0300 is TELFORD (01952) 290466. The number is answered "DHL Telford" but I don't know whether they will be able to help you on this number. Good Luck.

DHL offer a first class parcel collection and delivery service.

However, when one needs to arrange a collection, a 0870 number should be called. Whilst this site offers alternative numbers for DHL, when they are called one is advised (yes, you've guessed) ". . you need to call 0870 . . .". Similarly, the response is the same no matter who one talks with at DHL.

The sad thing is, one gets the impresssion they use every trick in the book to extend the call for as long as possible.

Does anybody out there please know the geographical number for DHL parcels collections? Smiley

When I wanted a courier service and they mostly offered 0870 & 0845 numbers in the Business Directory, I chose the one with a freephone 0800 number. That was FedEx, but it proved to be a mistake because it went to an Indian call centre and I had to repeat all my details about 3 times and then they still looked up the wrong postcode, so I gave up and picked another courier, with an 0845 number. (Yes, I would have preferrred a geo number but at least it wasn't 0870.) That was UPS and they did a same day pick-up from home, and were very efficient.

My moral here is: if they only offer an 0870 number, go elsewhere. That way companies might eventually get the message.

DHL Netherlands offers 0800 and geog. I have not checked the other countries, but it does show what they expect in the UK, in common with other greedy companies. And, of course, DHL Netherlands' use of 0800 and geog allows for international access. Perhaps the other countries just employ brighter and more honest people. Cry

0800 is nice, but I would be happy with geog. I do not expect to have to pay a hidden subsidy. If they want a revenue share use 09X - and then negotiate for more than half.

There does appear to be a few LOCAL DHL geographical numbers still scattered about the country. Sadly, the branches local to here force punters to use trick 0870 numbers.

The con continues. Just received our 18185 bill. 99.9% of calls UK are £0.04. The last call to 0870 2400555 to arrange a DHL collection was only for 2m:07secs and cost a disproportionate £0.1247. Sad

Try calling 01332 816960 - when i last called it, it gave the same automated menu options as the advertised DHL 0870 number.

Sounds like it might - at 11pm there's a recording saying, "DHL office hours are ..... Please call back."

After years of ignoring govt. guidelines & RIPPING OFF Council Tax payers using 0845 numbers, Essex County Council changed to 0345 numbers on 2 November 2015

Called your recommended number and got messages similar to : "To book a collection push 2" . . "To speak with an adviser, push 2". Then had to hang up as nothing to be collected at the moment. LOOKS VERY PROMISING. Am most grateful to you all for your help and interest.

I tried 01332 816960 and the guy said it was the business number and I needed to call the domestic number (0870 2400 555) but I asked and he transferred me. Hope that helps someone.
