I've just called 08000512590 and it starts of with some music and Sky propaganda. Then you are put on what appears to be hold because the lady apologises for keeping you waiting. Undecided

Hmm Bizarre, just tried the new 0800 number and after explaining my problem (HD box gone screwy, goes into standby every night and doesn't return, forcing a reboot if anyone is interested

) was advised that I shouldn't be using this number and to call 08702 404040 (which as far as I know is their customer service number?)

A couple of things come to mind, how did they know I was not ringing the 404040 number? and also they knew my contact details etc before I gave them, I had to verify them, possibly due to caller ID? (this asks another question, the normal 404040 doesn't have this facility so do they use this to check who is calling and hence why they block the numbers eventually?)

You used the wrong number.

Just rang the 0800 number, sorry did not read about 141 till after. your telephone number must bring up your account details, as I did not mention this once, and was not asked to verify Roll Eyes

the very nice lady had to speak to customer service to answer my query. which has been sorted at no additional cost to me. thank you for that Grin

Yes, they close them pretty quickly! It must be that they keep a watch on this site, I guess...
