Call 01506 831781 then instead of entering your phone numer in their touch tone system just wait to be connected to an operator. I tried this earlier topday and got through within a minute or so.

All,
used the 01506 831781 number to Sky tonight (05/09), spoke to a lovely lady in Fife within 2 minutes Wink  DO NOT PUT ANY PHONE NUMBERS IN!!!  let it go through the automated recording twice and it will connect you.
Although she did try and tell me my sky box had to be connected to the phone line after the year limit....

Hope this helps.

Why Pay More?

Sky overcharged me by about £5 on my TV Package so I rang them to complain and was on the phone for about 15 minutes - in the queue and whilst the lady went off to confirm that what I said was correct. She eventually offered to give me a refund on our next bill of the exact amount of the overcharge.

I then enquired as to whether they would also give some kind of apology payment in view of the fact that ringing them was so expensive on the premium rate 8p a minute number. She said that they did not normally do this unless someone insisted. I pointed out that they had made the error and that if they had not done so I would not have had to phone them. About a minute later she agreed to also credit my account with an additional £5 ex-gratia (Apology) payment. Happy Days.  Grin

I never did tell her whether I had actually used the 0870 number to call them, she clearly made an assumption that I had.  Wink

As a long time user of this website and member of this forum I do not like using 0870 numbers unless I have to. I will leave you to guess which contact number I used!!! Smiley

Whilst we are on the subject of Sky... does anyone have a number for Sentanta?  My carer's dad has just had his phone bill in and after phoning them they got a shock at how much the calls came to...  he's a pensioner on a limited income so I'd love to help him out...

Thanks in advance

Success!  I used the highlighted number above this morning with complete success!

I was transferred to another department but judging by the way the call was handled, with respect, politeness and dignity, I wasn't transferred to the dreaded 0870 one!  You'd have thought I was royalty by the way the calle was taken.... unlike when you use the other expensive number.. so thanks for all your help on that one...I'll be using other 0780 numbers or should I say their alternatives today so I'll let you know how that one goes...

Thanks for this fantastic forum.. best I've been in lately Wink

thanks for the info... I do hope they mean it although until it happens I won't hold my breath...  somehow I don't think they'll want to lose the revenue from all the 0870 calls.  I realy hope it comes to fruition though. Smiley Smiley Smiley
